Photovoltaic connectors are devices used to establish high-performance electrical connections between photovoltaic panels and between photovoltaic panels and other components of the photovoltaic system, such as inverters, charging controllers, and batteries. Their core function is to confirm stable power transmission while meeting strict requirements such as weather resistance, safety, and excellence.
Installation details:
Wiring protection: During wiring, the optical connectors should be protected by straightening the optical cables before laying them out to avoid twisting, small angle bending, or stepping on the cables. The tension should be maintained within the allowable range, and the static bending radius of the optical cable R should be ≥ 10D, and the dynamic bending radius R should be ≥ 20D (D is the diameter of the optical cable).
Locking mechanism: Select connectors with locking mechanisms, such as snap on, threaded, etc., and confirm that the plug and socket are tightly fitted. When installing, hear a "click" sound from the plug before releasing it.
Avoid excessive bundling: When the optical cable has excess length, it should be coiled and bundled, and it is strictly prohibited to fold and bundle it directly. The bundling should be moderately elastic to avoid excessive bundling and squeezing of optical fibers, which may affect transmission performance.
Regular inspection:
Appearance inspection: Check the appearance of the connector once a month and conduct a comprehensive inspection every six months, including disassembling and inspecting the interior. Check if the connector is loose, oxidized, or damaged.
Contact surface cleaning: Dip a clean soft cloth in alcohol every quarter to give the metal contact surface of the connector a "bath" and wipe off dust and rust.
Sealing glue inspection: Regularly inspect the sealing glue and replace it immediately if aging or cracking is found.
Maintenance content:
Locking of connection structure: When the connector is found to be loose, tighten the housing to re lock the connector.
Fiber optic cable component replacement: When damaged and unable to provide attentive service, new fiber optic cable components need to be replaced.
Return to factory repair: When the repair conditions are not available on site, remove the fiber optic cable components and return them to the factory for repair.
4、 Install protective equipment
Waterproof measures (based on actual reports):
Choose a dry location: Install the connector in a dry place and do not let it soak in water.
Add waterproof (based on actual reports) cover: For connectors with low waterproof (based on actual reports) levels, add a waterproof (based on actual reports) cover.
Anti corrosion treatment (based on actual reports):
Coating with anti-corrosion (based on actual reports): putting "protective clothing" on the connector and applying anti-corrosion (based on actual reports) materials such as zinc chromium coating and Dacromet coating can greatly extend its service life.
