The HIZ2Z2-K designation follows the European PV cable nomenclature: "H" for harmonized, "I" for insulation class, "Z" for cross-linked (XLPE/XLPO) insulation, "2Z2" indicating halogen-free and heat-resistant construction, and "K" for flexible single-core cable. Haoshizai's HIZ2Z2-K series is engineered for the DC side of photovoltaic systems, connecting modules to string inverters and combiner boxes with long-term outdoor reliability.
The series covers the most common PV wiring sizes:
HIZ2Z2-K 1×4mm² — single-core, ideal for module-to-string and short string runs.
HIZ2Z2-K 2×4mm² — twin-core, suited to compact rooftop arrays and where paired polarity wiring simplifies routing.
HIZ2Z2-K 2×6mm² — twin-core with larger cross-section for longer runs and higher string currents.
All variants use tinned flexible copper conductors for corrosion resistance in humid and coastal environments.
HIZ2Z2-K cables are rated for a nominal conductor temperature of 90°C (120°C under short-circuit conditions) and an ambient range of -40°C to +90°C. The rated voltage is typically 1.5kV DC (or 0.6/1kV AC), sufficient for standard PV string voltages. Insulation and sheath are halogen-free, flame-retardant, and resistant to ozone and UV radiation, meeting EN 50618 and IEC 62930 requirements.
For pitched-roof installations, the 1×4mm² single-core cable connects each panel's junction box to the string. Its flexibility simplifies routing through roof conduits, while XLPO insulation withstands years of sun exposure. The 2×4mm² twin variant reduces the number of parallel runs on compact roofs.
Larger commercial strings often use the 2×6mm² variant to keep voltage drop within tolerance over longer cable distances. The twin-core design keeps positive and negative conductors paired, simplifying installation and reducing the risk of polarity errors during commissioning.
In off-grid solar with charge controllers and battery banks, HIZ2Z2-K cables bridge the PV input side reliably. Tinned copper conductors resist corrosion in remote, high-humidity sites where ordinary wire would degrade.
Use MC4-compatible connectors with the correct crimp profile, avoid sharp bending radii below the manufacturer minimum, and protect the cable from mechanical impact at fixation points. Store reels shaded before installation to prevent jacket stress. Because the cable is halogen-free, it also improves fire safety in enclosed plant rooms.
The HIZ2Z2-K series gives installers a certified, flexible, and climate-resistant solution for the DC side of photovoltaic systems. With 1×4mm², 2×4mm², and 2×6mm² options, Haoshizai covers the full spectrum of residential and commercial PV wiring needs under a single harmonized standard.
